Fighting Crime: Lagos Police Command Arrests 66 Robbery Suspects, Recovers Arms

The Lagos Police Command has arrested 66 armed robbery suspects and other criminals in the state within two months.

The State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, disclosed this while parading some of the arrested suspects at the Command headquarters recently.

At the parade of the suspects,  Odumosu warned that there is no room for criminals in the State as securing lives and property was priority for the command.

He said the state police has been tackling insecurity and in less than three months has arrested 66 suspected Armed Robbers and other criminals.

According to the commissioner, the paraded suspects were arrested in various locations across the state with arms and ammunition.

One of the suspects, Ridwan Akeem, confessed to the National Association of Online Reporters (NAOSRE) that he along with some other suspects are cultists in Eye confraternity adding that they carry guns to protect themselves from rival cults  with whom they exchange gunshots during battles.

Ishola Ibrahim, another suspect also said he was arrested for armed robbery and that he gives information to other robbers.

A report of the Lagos command achievements during the period, May 1st to July 13th, indicate that, 66 suspected Armed Robbers were arrested, 110 Arms add 125 Ammunition Recovered, 72 cultists re-arrested and 620 Miscreants, others arrested .
