The Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS) has introduced a suite of new investor-focused services aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and inclusiveness in Nigeria’s capital market.
The newly launched offerings – Joint Accounts, Premium Investor Tiers, API Access, and Expanded Data Services – underscore CSCS’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its role as a leading market infrastructure provider and deepen participation across the investment ecosystem.
According to the company, the Joint Accounts feature is designed to enable families, business partners, and co-investors to seamlessly manage and track shared investments, promoting flexibility and transparency in portfolio management.
The Premium Investor Tiers initiative seeks to reward active investors with tailored services, offering enhanced engagement, convenience, and specialized support based on investment activity levels.
CSCS also unveiled an API Access service, which allows financial technology firms, brokers, and other market operators to integrate directly with its systems.
The move is expected to drive automation, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate service delivery across the market.
In addition, Expanded Data Services will provide stakeholders with broader access to market data, supporting informed decision-making and fostering innovation within the financial ecosystem.
Speaking on the development, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CSCS, Shehu Shantali, said the initiatives reflect the organisation’s commitment to delivering a seamless and secure post-trade environment.
“Our commitment has always been to create a seamless and secure post-trade environment that supports market growth. These new services are designed to make things easier for investors and to help stakeholders access better data, faster transactions, and deeper value across the ecosystem,” he said.
CSCS noted that the initiatives are anchored on technology, collaboration, and long-term value creation, adding that they represent a significant step toward building a more resilient and sustainable capital market.
As Nigeria’s central securities depository, CSCS plays a critical role in clearing, settlement, and custody of securities, serving a wide range of participants including retail and institutional investors, brokers, and regulators.
The organisation reiterated its commitment to driving innovation and shaping the future of financial market infrastructure in the country.
