Fidelity Bank has highlighted the importance of structured financing and cash flow management for private school proprietors seeking to expand their institutions and improve learning facilities ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session.
The bank, through its Fidelity EduLoan solution, said eligible schools can access financing to support operating expenses, upgrade infrastructure, acquire educational resources and manage the gap between school fee collection and payment obligations.
According to the bank, the financing solution is designed to meet the unique financial needs of educational institutions and other stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector.
The Fidelity EduLoan is available as a short-term loan or overdraft facility, with repayment terms structured around school fee collection cycles, subject to applicable terms and credit assessment.
The solution can support classroom renovations, school furniture, teaching materials, computers, technology equipment, school buses, books, uniforms, generators, salaries, operating expenses, new buildings and facility expansion.
The bank said the financing is intended to help schools prepare for resumption and undertake important development projects without necessarily waiting until all school fees have been collected.
Supporting Schools Through Seasonal Cash Flow Pressures
Fidelity Bank noted that schools operate differently from many other businesses, as income is often seasonal while expenses continue throughout the year.
Salaries, maintenance, utilities, transportation, security and learning resources must be funded even when school fee collections are between cycles.
The bank said its EduLoan solution is designed to help eligible schools sustain operations during admission, registration, resumption and term preparation periods, while also providing a financing pathway for infrastructure development, resource acquisition and institutional expansion.
It added that effective cash flow management, accurate financial records, reliable payment systems and proper budgeting remain essential to building financially strong educational institutions.
Beyond Financing
Fidelity Bank said its support for the education sector extends beyond school financing, with education identified as a focus area of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
According to the bank, its interventions have included back-to-school donations, financial literacy programmes, school renovations and initiatives supporting educators and students.
The bank said these efforts reflect the importance of supporting schools, teachers, parents and education entrepreneurs in strengthening Nigeria’s education ecosystem.
Preparing for the New Academic Session
As the 2026/2027 academic session begins, the bank encouraged school proprietors to prepare early, maintain accurate financial records and work with financial institutions that understand the operational demands of running educational establishments.
It said the Fidelity EduLoan provides eligible schools with a financing option for priorities such as classroom renovation, furniture acquisition, technology upgrades, school bus purchases, operating expenses and expansion.
The bank urged interested proprietors to visit a Fidelity Bank branch or contact their Relationship Manager for information on eligibility requirements, applicable terms and available financing options.
