United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has announced plans to host a special edition of its quarterly UBA Business Series in celebration of Women’s Month, with a focus on empowering and highlighting the achievements of modern African women.
The event, themed “Gen W – The Evolved Woman,” is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2026, at UBA House in Lagos, starting from 11 a.m.
The session will also be streamed live across the bank’s digital platforms to enable wider participation.
According to the organisers, the event will bring together accomplished female leaders and professionals who will share insights, experiences and practical strategies on leadership, ambition and personal growth in today’s evolving business environment.
The edition aims to advance conversations around women’s empowerment by showcasing a new generation of women who are not only seeking opportunities but also creating them.
Discussions will focus on how women are shaping industries, building businesses and redefining success on their own terms.
The event will feature a lineup of speakers including entrepreneur and founder of ORÍKÌ Group, Joycee Awosika; media personality and entrepreneur, Tomike Adeoye; founder of Fine Funky, Olufunke Davies; and award-winning broadcaster, Ayo Mario‑Ese. The conversation will be moderated by media personality and actor Tobi Bakre.
Panelists are expected to share their personal journeys and perspectives on building resilient businesses, navigating professional spaces, embracing authenticity and redefining leadership in a rapidly changing global landscape.
Speaking ahead of the event, UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, said the special edition reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting women and recognising their contributions to economic growth and innovation across Africa.
