Women Empowerment: Ooni Of Ife To Host Inaugural Mothers’ Council Conference

His imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, says preparations are on top gear to host the inaugural Mothers’ Council Conference” on Tuesday, 8th December, 2020.

The Conference will be held virtually via Zoom on December 10, 2020 at 3: 00pm.

In a statement, His imperial Majesty called on all women, from other tribes to join hands in developing the country, following in the footsteps of women in Yoruba land whose role in the process of crowning kings cannot be understated.

He noted that the contribution of women has given the Yoruba nation a leverage over other tribes in Nigeria.

According to the coordinator of the event and Founder of ‘Make Me Elegant Foundation’, Kehinde Adelaja Okoroafor, and the co-host, founder Hope4Sure Foundation, Peju oke, the Conference will dwell on “What Women Want” even at this critical period where poverty, unemployment and Economic recession have brought misery to the world.

The twin day event is scheduled to kick-off with the inauguration/Award Presentation on Tuesday, 8th December, 2020; at the Ooni’s Palace by 12:00 noon prompt.

It will also capture Women’s empowerment, challenges and book lunch titled “My Journey to Freedom: How I Survived Human Trafficking (Voice of Shagala)”; written by Abidemi Martha Adefenwa

Many great women, who have made their marks within and outside Nigeria, are billed to grace the occasion.

Few of the personalities expected to speak at the events include; Vice President of Liberia, Dr. Jewel Howard Taylor, Nigerian Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, Her Excellency Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and Her Excellency wife of Ondo State Governor, Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu, Longford County Council, Republic of Ireland, Roxy Ndebumadu, Councilwoman City of Bowie, Maryland, USA, and many more.
