The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has launched FutureMakers, a program designed to instill a culture of innovation and creativity among children aged 15 and below.
The program aims to identify, nurture, and empower young innovators to develop solutions to societal challenges.
NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, noted that the program is part of a long-term national strategy to build technical confidence early and strengthen Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem.
He urged parents, teachers, and partners to support the initiative, which will run from December 2025 to February 2026.
The program will feature 60 selected children from six geo-political zones, with prizes worth up to N5 million for top winners, including an exclusive study tour abroad and a scholarship.
Francis Ezenwa Onyewuchi, Chairman of the Senate Committee on NASENI, commended the agency for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of creativity and supporting young talents.
The event was attended by students from Aflon Digital Academy and Government Secondary School, highlighting the potential of young minds in driving innovation and change.
By investing in their talent and creativity, NASENI aims to secure Nigeria’s innovation future and inspire a new generation of problem-solvers.
