Mainland Laffs 3.0: FirstBank Illuminates Lagos with Music, Comedy and Culture

The Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Ikeja, was transformed into a pulsating hub of entertainment on Sunday, December 7, 2025, as the much-anticipated Legends Decemba/Mainland Laffs 3.0 lit up the Lagos Mainland with a vibrant blend of comedy, music, dance, and artistic expression.

From the moment guests stepped onto the elegantly decorated red carpet, framed by bold sponsor banners and festive décor, the excitement was unmistakable.

Celebrities, entertainers, and loyal fans streamed into the venue, setting the stage for a night that reaffirmed the event’s growing status as one of Lagos’ standout cultural showcases.

Headlining the evening’s stellar comedic lineup was Nigeria’s legendary icon Ali Baba, whose signature humour and storytelling brought both laughter and depth to the night.

He was joined by the ever-dynamic Kenny Blaq, celebrated for his genre-blending musical comedy, and Phronesis, whose rapid-fire wit kept the crowd roaring.

Holding the performances together with effortless charm was the evening’s host, MC Husband Material (Eze Chuwudi), whose warm rapport and quick improvisations maintained a steady wave of excitement.

Additional comedic acts, including MC Bishop, Dr. Smile, MC Trick, Abadei, and 16 Onirun, ensured a continuous stream of laughter that echoed across the hall.

Beyond comedy, the event showcased a diverse artistic palette. Gospel rapper Protech opened with an energetic set, while CJ the Violinist delivered soulful melodies that offered moments of calm reflection.

A riveting performance by Mauren’s Art brought dance to the fore, while a lineup of musicians—Oba Richie, Angelo, Switch, and Ozzy, further electrified the audience.

A creatively assembled vendor village added to the night’s festive ambiance, offering everything from local cuisine to fashion pieces.

Inside the main hall, guests enjoyed a seamless production experience, complete with plush seating, advanced lighting, LED screens, and high-fidelity sound that elevated every performance on stage.

The event’s smooth execution was powered by FirstBank Nigeria Limited, a headline sponsor through its annual DecemberIssaVybe festivities, with additional support from the Lagos State Government and LASAA.

FirstBank’s involvement highlighted the scale and cultural relevance of the celebration, reinforcing its commitment to enriching community experiences during the festive season.

The night reached its emotional peak when music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia stepped onto the stage. Taking the audience on a nostalgic journey through timeless classics and newer hits, 2Baba delivered a performance that was both intimate and electrifying.

Fans sang along passionately, many rising to their feet as he moved through the crowd, feeding off the palpable energy in the room.

His set reaffirmed his standing as one of Nigeria’s most enduring musical icons, an artist whose influence continues to bridge generations. Even as he exited the stage, the crowd’s chants for more underscored the unforgettable moment he had created.

As the curtains drew to a close, guests departed with a sense of fulfillment, carrying with them the memory of a night that seamlessly blended world-class entertainment with community pride. Mainland Laffs 3.0 stood out not just as a show, but as a celebration of Lagos Mainland’s vibrant creative spirit.

Reflecting on the event, FirstBank representatives said: “We supported the show because it was meticulously designed to embody the community’s talent and vibrancy.

From the laughter to the music to the energy in the hall, it was the ultimate ‘DecemberIssaVybe’ experience. We’re proud of the outcome and grateful to the organisers, performers, and especially the wonderful people of Lagos who came out to celebrate.”
