Improving relationship between Nigerian and Indonesian Businesses will serve as a good medium for the private sectors in both countries to harness potential opportunities and experience.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Usra Harahap said this at the first edition of Nigerian-Indonesian Virtual Business Forum organized by the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) in partnership with the Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) in Lagos.
The forum which focused on Agribusiness sector brought together over seventy Nigerian and Indonesian companies featuring; Tractors, Agro processing Equipment, Water Treatment Chemicals and Natural Rubber Coagulant among others.
Dignitaries at the forum include; National President of NACCIMA and Chairperson of the Organized Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), Saratu Iya Aliyu, Charge D’affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Jakartar, Indonesia, Beatrice Archibong, ,Former Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia, Hakeem Balogun and Director-General of NACCIMA, Ambassador Ayoola Olukanni,.
The NACCIMA National President commended facilitators of the virtual business forum for their effort despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and called for closer ties between Indonesia and Nigeria, especially in the area of Agribusiness technology, to enhance Agricultural production in Nigeria.
For her part, Charge D’affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Jakartar, Archibong, Said the success of the forum is a clear demonstration of goodwill and determination to boost the economy of both countries in spite of the growing pandemic which has negatively impacted global economy.
She expressed the commitment of the Nigerian Embassy in Indonesia to coordinate with relevant stakeholders and provide necessary information relating to Indonesian market to potential Nigerian investors.
Indonesian and Nigerian businesses have enjoyed closer ties since the establishment of diplomatic relations between both countries in 1965.
