Veteran Broadcaster Riume Efetie Joins WABMA as Assistant Registrar

The West Africa Broadcast and Media Academy (WABMA) has announced the appointment of renowned broadcaster and presentation teacher, Riume Efetie, as Assistant Registrar, Business Development, at its Lagos training centre.

Efetie, a seasoned broadcast professional with over three decades of experience, brings his expertise to WABMA’s management team.

Until his appointment, he was a sought-after broadcast presentation teacher, elocution consultant, and author.

According to Dr. Ken Ike Okere, Rector of WABMA, Efetie’s appointment is a significant addition to the academy’s expansion drive. “His decades of experience as a presenter and teacher will deepen our penetration in Lagos and the entire southwest region,” Okere said.

Efetie has assumed duty at the WABMA Lagos centre, where he will play a key role in the academy’s business development and growth.

“I am delighted to be part of such a talented team at WABMA,” Efetie said. “This new role opens the door to new challenges, and I am excited to contribute to the academy’s mission of providing world-class media training.”

Efetie’s impressive career spans decades, including his time as a presenter at Radio Nigeria and lecturer at the National Broadcast Academy (NBA).

He retired in 2018 as the Head of Presentation Department at the NBA. Efetie holds an honors bachelor’s degree in English Language and several professional certificates. He is also an author of two publications on presentation.

WABMA offers a range of certificate courses for media professionals, covering journalism, public relations, broadcasting, digital content creation, media ethics, and video editing.
