Unity Bank Plc has taken a significant step towards supporting women entrepreneurs in Nigeria by hosting a capacity-building workshop in partnership with the Association of Nigerian Women in Business Network (ANWBN).
The workshop, themed “Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: AI and Digital Marketing Strategies,” aimed to equip women with practical knowledge on harnessing emerging technology to drive business growth.
The initiative stems from the growing advancement in technology and its impact on business.
Renowned industry experts led impactful sessions, providing tools for leveraging digital platforms, building efficiency, engaging customers, and increasing brand visibility.
Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head of Retail and SME Banking at Unity Bank Plc, emphasized the need to empower women entrepreneurs to take advantage of the digital marketing landscape.
“The growing digital landscape presents a unique opportunity for women to scale their businesses,” she said.
Abimbola pledged Unity Bank’s commitment to supporting SMEs, particularly female-led ventures. “Empowering women entrepreneurs is key to driving economic growth and ensuring sustainable development,” she added.
Participants, including Yetunde Adeniran, a fashion designer, praised the workshop for providing valuable insights into integrating digital technology into their businesses.
Adeniran highlighted the advantages of Unity Bank’s Yanga Account, tailored to meet the specific needs of small business owners.
Launched in 2022, Yanga Account facilitates financial inclusion for women. The workshop’s success underscores Unity Bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting female entrepreneurs, providing access to valuable resources, financial tools, and educational opportunities.
With over 70% of women entrepreneurs in Nigeria seeking capacity-building programs, Unity Bank and ANWBN’s partnership addresses this need.
The bank’s dedication to empowering women in business aligns with its mission to drive economic growth and sustainable development.
As Nigeria continues to navigate the digital economy, initiatives like this workshop play a crucial role in bridging the gap between traditional business methods and technology-driven entrepreneurship.
Unity Bank’s partnership with ANWBN demonstrates its commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs, providing them with the necessary skills and resources to thrive in today’s digital economy.
This initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the growth and development of women-led businesses in Nigeria.
