Underserved Communities: AltBank, Sterling One Foundation, and Foodbank Collaborate to Raise N20 Million for Education and Social Welfare

AltBank, in partnership with FoodBank and Sterling One Foundation, has announced a joint effort to raise approximately N20 million to support educational and hunger alleviation programs in underserved communities.

This initiative is in line with the theme of the African Union Summit 2024, “Educate and Skill Africa for the 21st Century.”

Hassan Yusuf, the Managing Director of AltBank, revealed the plan in a press release, highlighting the upcoming AltWalk event as a key fundraising platform.

“Through this initiative, we aim to gather contributions from both internal and external stakeholders, reaffirming our commitment to education and societal welfare,” Yusuf stated.

The fundraising campaign aims to raise N20 million, with the funds being used to provide meals for underserved communities and orphanages through the FoodBank initiative, as well as to deliver quality educational support through the Sterling One Foundation.

This campaign is targeting individuals, families, businesses, and organizations dedicated to ending hunger, improving education, promoting healthy living, and making a positive impact on society.

Prospective donors are encouraged to contribute through https://altbank.ng/walk/.

Stakeholder participation and donations are expected to have a significant impact on critical social issues such as hunger reduction, improved education, and healthier lifestyles.

Yusuf emphasized AltBank’s commitment to empowering customers through innovative solutions in health, food security, and education, positioning them for success in the 21st century.

He highlighted that education is at the core of the bank’s mission to strengthen the economy and enhance financial well-being across society.

AltBank, Nigeria’s newest player in the financial services sector, made a splash with simultaneous launch events in Lagos, Abuja, and Kano, marking the country’s first multi-city brand launch.

As the ethical banking arm of Sterling Financial Holdings, AltBank was established in 2014 as Sterling Alternative Finance under Sterling Bank Plc’s non-interest banking license.

It has since become a prominent player in Nigeria’s non-interest banking sector.
