The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced that voice and data services have been restored to approximately 90% of their peak utilization capacities following the undersea cable cuts on March 14, 2024.
The disruption, which affected services along the coasts of Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal, has been mitigated by operators taking recovery capacity from unaffected submarine cables.
In a statement, the NCC confirmed that Mobile Network Operators have activated alternative connectivities to ensure that data and voice services operate optimally until the undersea cables are fully repaired.
The Commission expressed gratitude to telecom consumers for their patience and understanding during the downtime caused by the cable cuts.
