The Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) and Ecobank Nigeria have partnered to host a three-day Entrepreneurship Business Training (EBT) Workshop for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the solar energy sector.
The training, scheduled for March 10-12, 2025, in Abuja, aims to equip 50 SMEs with essential technical, financial, and business management skills to succeed in the renewable energy industry.
According to Salamatu Baba Tunzwang, ESF Team Lead at ROGEAP, the workshop is crucial in advancing sustainable energy access and business growth in Nigeria.
“By equipping SMEs with the right tools and knowledge, we are empowering them to drive economic development while expanding access to clean energy solutions.”
Tunde Dawodu, Divisional Head, FCT / North Ecobank Nigeria, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that the workshop aligns with Ecobank’s efforts to support SME growth.
“This training will be invaluable for our SME customers involved in solar installations and sales, providing them with access to customized financial products, digital tools, and strategic guidance to expand into broader markets.”
The workshop will cover key modules, including understanding ROGEAP’s structure and grant opportunities, off-grid solar systems, quality assurance, business model development, and access to financial opportunities.
Expert trainers from ROGEAP, Ecobank, and industry specialists will facilitate the training, offering tailored learning experiences.
Selected participants from Ecobank Nigeria’s network will attend the training in person, marking a significant step towards empowering solar SMEs and promoting sustainable energy access in Nigeria.
