President Tinubu Praises NASENI’s Leadership Contributions to National Economy on 2nd Anniversary in Office

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its outstanding performance in fulfilling the Federal Government’s socio-economic agenda.

Speaking on the occasion of his second-year anniversary in office, Tinubu praised NASENI’s leadership under Executive Vice Chairman/CEO Khalil Suleiman Halilu for the agency’s numerous achievements.

Tinubu highlighted NASENI’s initiatives, including the Innovate Naija, Irrigate Nigeria, and Asset Restoration Programme, which are driving inclusive industrialization and creating jobs.

He also commended the agency’s digital-first approach, introduction of real-time dashboards, and implementation of end-to-end e-procurement through its Unified ERP System.

The President noted that NASENI’s programs are empowering young Nigerians, promoting skill acquisition, and job creation.

He cited the agency’s training of female drone engineers through the NASCAV programme and the launch of Africa’s most advanced Rapid Diagnostic Kit Factory as examples of its impact.

Tinubu emphasized the importance of agriculture and food security in his Renewed Hope Agenda, highlighting NASENI’s role in providing state-of-the-art Solar Irrigation Pump systems to boost local food production and support farmers.

Under Halilu’s leadership, NASENI is working on several projects, including building urea and coal-based factories, lithium processing and manufacturing plants, drone assembly plants, and expanding eco-friendly cookstoves production lines.

The agency is also rehabilitating abandoned farm tractors and building new Development Institutes and NASENI Skill Acquisition Centres (NSACs) nationwide.
