Polaris Bank, in partnership with Evolve Trust Charity, has continued its initiative to provide school essentials to selected public schools in Nigeria.
The latest beneficiaries are the students of Gbaja Girls Junior and Senior High School in Surulere, Lagos.
The partnership, which began in 2021, aims to empower young learners, particularly the girl-child, with brain training techniques, emotional intelligence education, and essential school materials.
To date, the initiative has reached over 15,000 students across 35 public schools in nine states, including Lagos, Kano, and Abuja.
During the presentation, Polaris Bank’s Executive Director, Corporate and Investment Banking, Abimbola Ozomah, emphasized the bank’s commitment to bridging the educational gap and empowering girls.
She noted that educated girls grow into informed women who can drive positive change.
Ozomah also highlighted the bank’s alignment with the United Nations’ Principles for Responsible Banking and its sustainability efforts aimed at reducing out-of-school children and increasing access to quality education.
The event was attended by the Programme Manager at Evolve Charity Trust, Ejeh Godwin, who thanked Polaris Bank for its support.
The Principal of Gbaja Girls Junior High School, Dabiri Nwabuoku Adetoun Iyabo, also expressed gratitude to Polaris Bank for including the school in the intervention program.
One of the beneficiaries, Bankole Oreofeoluwa Emmanuella, thanked the bank for the donation and promised to put the items to good use.
