The Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDHR) Kwara State Chapter has condemned the senseless killing of innocent travelers along Rukuba town, Jos in Plateau state.
About 22 people were reportedly killed after an attack on a convoy of 90 Muslims along Rukuba road in the outskirts of Jos.
In a statement jointly signed by its chairman and secretary, Afolabi Lukman and Idris Afees, , the Kwara Branch of CDHR sympathised with the bereaved families and mourns the departed souls.
The statement prayed to God to grant the reposed souls eternal rest and give the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
The CDHR appealed to the federal government and plateau state government to bring the culprits to book as well as intensify efforts on security of the north-central, Jos-Plateau to forestall future occurrence.
They also called for collaborative efforts to end all forms of terrorism, banditry and kidnapping for ransoms in the country.
