Oyo State Government Assures Residents of Even Distribution of Road Rehabilitation

The Oyo State Government has reassured its residents that the ongoing road rehabilitation efforts will be evenly distributed across the state.

Raphael Ogunlade, Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, made this promise while inspecting ongoing projects in Ibadan, addressing concerns that the rehabilitation process was limited to Ibadan.

Governor Seyi Makinde has committed to extending the rehabilitation process to all zones, including Oyo, Ogbomosho, and other areas.

The governor emphasized this during the commissioning of the Mobil-Akala road, urging residents to be patient as their convenience is his administration’s top priority.

Ogunlade praised Governor Makinde for his dedication to providing Oyo State with the best road network and for supporting OYSROMA’s efforts.

The chairman also confirmed that the rehabilitation exercise will include reconstructing bridges damaged by recent heavy rainfall, as directed by the governor.

OYSROMA has been working tirelessly to rehabilitate roads across the state. The agency has partnered with local government authorities to accelerate road repairs in rural areas, earmarked 255 roads for rehabilitation and repairs, and extended road rehabilitation exercises to other parts of Ibadan.

The agency aims to create a “zero pothole state” with smooth roads, improving the state’s road infrastructure, fostering socio-economic development, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

As Ogunlade noted, “We are grateful to our Governor for his consistent effort in giving Oyo state the best in every sector… We will also appreciate the residents of Oyo state for their continuous understanding and patience”.
