The Oyo State Government has launched a major road rehabilitation project in Ibadan, aiming to enhance transportation infrastructure and mobility.
The project covers four key roads: Bashorun Oluwo-nla, Agbowo road, Eleyele-Water road, and Zion plaza-Olusoji Road.
According to Busoye Ogunlade, Chairman of the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, the rehabilitation is based on fund availability and economic viability. The project is expected to be completed within eight weeks.
Ogunlade said the ongoing project was in line with the commitment of the Seyi Makinde-led administration to make the state more attractive to both local and foreign investors.
In his words, “Governor Seyi Makinde has given us the mandate to rehabilitate roads across the State, and we have mobilized our men to these sites.”
He therefore advised commuters to follow temporary traffic diversions and cooperate with the traffic officers.
