The Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery has matriculated 147 new students, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s history.
The matriculation ceremony, held at the college’s main auditorium in Eleyele, Ibadan, was attended by the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Soliu Abdulwaheed Adelabu.
Governor Makinde congratulated the matriculants, encouraging them to embrace every lesson with an open mind and shun examination malpractices.
He emphasized the importance of resilience in the nursing profession, urging them to uphold the college’s high standards of virtue and ethical conduct.
The Provost of the College, Dr. Gbonjubola Owolabi, also congratulated the students, reminding them that they are now ambassadors of the institution.
She encouraged them to prioritize their studies, adhere to the college’s rules, and strive to make remarkable contributions to the nursing profession and society at large.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including the Director, Nursing Services, Dr. Arinade Oyebode, and a Professor of Nursing from the University of Ibadan, Prof. Chizoma Ndikom.
A new student, Islamiat Lawal, was rewarded for her adherence to punctuality, adding to the excitement and anticipation of the ceremony.
