The Ogun State Commissioner for Transportation, Olugbenga Dairo, has revealed the modalities for residents to own the Dapo Abiodun Electric Bikes, also known as D. A. E-Bikes.
This initiative is part of the state’s effort to promote sustainable transportation and reduce the effects of fuel subsidy removal.
According to Dairo, the first two phases of the project have been successful in reducing the stress of commuters, cost of transportation, and promoting a cleaner environment due to its zero-carbon emission.
The commissioner noted that 13 battery swap stations have been identified, with six active stations currently in operation in various locations in Abeokuta, powered by propane gas.
To own a D. A. E-Bike for commercial purposes, interested individuals should contact the approved motorcycle transport unions in the state.
Private operators can directly reach out to SPIRO Mobility Nigeria Ltd or call 09130000352 for more information.
Additionally, the Deputy Director in the Ministry, Engr. Omisakin Waheed, can be contacted through 07032455051 or via email.
The Dapo Abiodun E-Bikes initiative is part of the state’s Strategic Transportation Master Plan (STMP) of 2021, aimed at promoting energy transition in the transportation system.
With its success, the state plans to upscale the operations of the E-Bikes to other towns in Ogun State.
