The Board of Trustees of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has placed an embargo on all transactions involving the party’s accounts nationwide.
This directive applies to all financial institutions, including banks, and will remain in effect until the original Certificate of Registration issued by INEC is presented to the designated officers.
In a statement signed by Oginni Olaposi Sunday, the National Secretary General of NNPP, it was emphasized that this action is necessary to prevent fraudulent activities by unauthorized individuals who are using photocopies of the Certificate of Registration to operate illegal bank accounts in the party’s name.
The party acknowledges that the original Certificate of Registration is essential for the opening and operation of bank accounts and financial transactions.
Therefore, the Board of Trustees of NNPP issued a directive on April 26th for all banking transactions involving the party’s name to be halted until the original Certificate of Registration is verified by the banks and other financial institutions.
In order to combat the activities of fraudsters within the party, the Board of Trustees has called for the cooperation of all commercial banks and financial institutions.
The EFCC has also been informed of these fraudulent activities, and it is important for managing directors of financial institutions to avoid any potential accusations of complicity in financial crimes.
While deposits into the accounts are permitted, withdrawals are currently restricted until the original Certificate of Registration is presented.
This measure is aimed at safeguarding the party’s finances and preventing further fraudulent activities.
