NIMASA New Boss Pledges to Lead the Agency with Clear Sense of Direction, Purpose

The newly appointed Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has pledged to lead the agency with a clear sense of direction and purpose.

He emphasized the importance of building a purpose-driven organization and prioritizing effective communication to enhance innovation, collaboration, and synergy at all levels.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Mobereola highlighted the Agency’s focus on safety, security, efficiency, and environmental sustainability under his leadership.

He stressed the need for innovation and excellence in the rapidly evolving maritime industry, urging employees to embrace change and continuously seek ways to improve operations.

Dr. Mobereola expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading NIMASA and thanked Minister Adegboyega Oyetola for his guidance.

He emphasized his commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity, diligence, and service to the nation.

The Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Chudi Offodile, welcomed Dr. Mobereola to the Agency on behalf of the Management and staff, pledging their cooperation for the success of NIMASA.

Dr. Mobereola’s appointment was approved by President Tinubu on March 11, 2024, for a renewable term of four years.

Dr. Mobereola holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Transport Economics from the University of Wales, United Kingdom, and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport in England and Nigeria.

He previously served as the Managing Director of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and as the Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State.
