In a move to boost Nigeria’s economy, the Minister of State for Industry, John Owan Enoh, has assured key industries of the government’s commitment to provide necessary support and incentives.
This pledge is part of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s industrial revolution drive, aimed at promoting made-in-Nigeria goods and services, creating jobs, and growing the economy.
During a 3-day industrial tour of Lagos and Ogun States, Enoh visited leading industrial giants, including Sunflag Nigeria Limited, GB Foods, and Berger Paints.
He acknowledged the challenges facing the textile industry, particularly the decline in productivity and employment, and assured stakeholders that the Ministry is determined to provide the necessary support for local manufacturers to thrive.
The minister announced that his Ministry will convene a session for Cotton Textile Garments stakeholders to address industry challenges.
He also revealed that the government has put in place incentives to ease the challenges of doing business in Nigeria.
Furthermore, Enoh disclosed plans for the upcoming inauguration of the Industrial Revolution Work Group, comprising representatives from different sectors, including the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN).
He highlighted the Ministry’s six key priorities, which include the Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP), Special Agro-Processing Zones (SAPZ), and Petrochemical, Chemical & Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
Enoh’s pledge has been commended by CEOs of visited industries, who praised the minister’s hands-on approach to leadership and the government’s commitment to collaboration with industry stakeholders.
