Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, has successfully defended his PhD thesis titled “Assessment of Internal Communication and Employee Relations Management in the Nigeria Customs Service” at the University of Abuja.
Maiwada’s PhD journey was notable for its challenges, as he balanced his academic pursuits with his demanding role in the Public Relations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service. His thesis was supervised by Prof. Barth Oshionebo, and he received valuable guidance and support from the academic staff.
The external examiner, Prof. Irene Agunloye, praised Maiwada’s work, stating that it was one of the most flawless PhD theses she had examined in her 35-year career.
Maiwada dedicated his achievement to his late father and expressed gratitude to his mother, wife, Aisha Musa Auyo, and colleagues, including Dr. Sadiq Mukhtar and Dr. Eric Andover, for their support.
He also thanked the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi and the Head of the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Abuja, Dr. Roseline Yacim.
With this achievement, Maiwada has earned the title of AC Abdullahi Aliyu Maiwada, PhD.
His accomplishment serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that with determination and hard work, individuals can achieve great things regardless of age or background.
