The Nigeria Customs Service Seme Area Command has commissioned a newly renovated Senior Officers Mess, Gym House, and a state-of-the-art Office Complex of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA).
The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.
The Comptroller General’s presence at the event underscores his commitment to the welfare of officers and the progress of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The newly commissioned facilities are a testament to the Service’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for its officers and their families.
The Seme Area Command has recorded significant achievements in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and the suppression of smuggling.
From January to April 2025, the Command generated N2.83 billion in revenue and processed over 184,000 metric tonnes of export goods valued at over N36 billion.
The COWA Office Complex is a recognition of the invaluable contributions of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association in supporting officers, fostering community development, and promoting the well-being of families within the Seme Command.
The Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Dr. Ben Oramaluo, expressed gratitude to the Comptroller General for his visionary leadership and support.
He also commended the officers and men of the Seme Area Command for their dedication to duty and professionalism.
The commissioning of the new facilities is expected to enhance the Service’s operations and promote the welfare of officers and their families.
