Nigeria Customs Chief Praises Ogun II Command for 40% Revenue Increase

The Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, has commended the Ogun II Area Command for its impressive revenue performance, generating ₦15.191 billion from January to April 2025.This represents a 40% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

During a working visit to the Command Headquarters in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the CGC was received by the Customs Comptroller Bisi Alade alongside other senior Command officers.

Comptroller Alade described the CGC’s visit as a morale booster for the command’s officers and men.

Comptroller Alade highlighted the Command’s achievements, noting that it oversees three Free Trade Zones, 67 excise factories, and one bonded terminal.

He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to remaining focused, disciplined, and professional in the discharge of its duties.

The Command faces several challenges, including inadequate operational vehicles, medical laboratory equipment, and the need for renovation of rank-and-file quarters.

The CGC assured that the Service Headquarters would consider the issues raised and expressed appreciation for the Command’s performance.

The CGC also praised Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, for leveraging the state’s strategic location as Nigeria’s industrial gateway.

Adeniyi commended the Governor’s efforts in repositioning the state for industrial growth and assured the government and people of Ogun State that the Nigeria Customs Service remains a committed partner in driving the nation’s economic prosperity.

The CGC encouraged Comptroller Alade to deepen collaboration with other security agencies and the state government to achieve shared goals.

This partnership is expected to drive economic growth and development in the region.
