Newly Appointed Aviation Permanent Secretary Commends NAMA’s Commitment to Safety and Efficiency

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, has praised the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) for its critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of air navigation in Nigeria.

During a working tour of NAMA’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Kana described the agency as “very strategic and pivotal” to the nation’s economic development.

Dr. Kana commended the staff of NAMA for their teamwork, dedication, and commitment to achieving organizational objectives.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating that it is the foundation of success and will continue to propel NAMA to greater heights.

The Permanent Secretary also acknowledged the challenges posed by the fluctuating dollar exchange rate and reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing funding challenges in the sector.

He pledged to collaborate with the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to secure necessary funding for NAMA’s projects.

NAMA’s Managing Director, Engr. Ahmed Farouk, expressed gratitude for Dr. Kana’s visit and highlighted the agency’s commitment to safety.

He noted that funding for critical navigational infrastructure remains a challenge, with some projects currently 50% completed.

However, he expressed confidence in the collaborative efforts of Dr. Kana and Minister Keyamo to ensure the successful completion of these projects.

In related news, NAMA plans to commence work on its corporate headquarters at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, with the groundbreaking ceremony to be performed by Minister Keyamo.
