NCS Recognises Trade Modernisation Project for Supporting Customs’ Digital Transformation

The Comptroller General of Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Adewale Adeniyi, has recognized Trade Modernisation Project (TMP) Limited for its significant contributions to improving the Nigeria Customs Service’s technological capabilities.

The award was presented on January 27, 2025, during the International Customs Day celebration in Abuja.

According to Adeniyi, the project has played a crucial role in modernizing customs processes, making trade more efficient, and strengthening revenue collection.

He emphasized the importance of partnerships like the one with TMP in transforming customs operations.

TMP’s Managing Director, Dr. Jummai Umar-Ajijola, expressed gratitude for the recognition, highlighting her team’s dedication to delivering innovative solutions that simplify customs procedures and enhance revenue collection.

The event also celebrated outstanding customs officers and key stakeholders who have contributed to the Service’s success. Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, praised the Nigeria Customs Service for its role in securing the country’s borders and ensuring smooth trade operations.

This recognition underscores the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to technological advancement and trade facilitation.

The Trade Modernisation Project is a key component of this effort, aimed at enhancing the Service’s technological capabilities and improving trade processes.
