NASENI Builds Capacity in Renewable Energy with Biogas and Biomethanol Plants Design Course

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has embarked on a strategic initiative to enhance its renewable energy capabilities by training 20 staff members in the design and operation of Biogas and Biomethanol plants.

This 5-day onsite training, conducted in collaboration with SRH Berlin, Germany, aims to equip NASENI staff with the necessary knowledge and expertise to effectively design and manage biogas and biomethanol plants.

The training, which commenced on Monday, July 22, 2024, and will conclude on Friday, July 26, 2024, covers various aspects of the design process, including process control, CAD/CAM, material science for biogas production, methanol synthesis, hydrogen production, and safety principles.

In addition to the onsite training, NASENI and SRH Berlin are offering two online training courses on the design of medium-scale biogas and biomethanol plants.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, represented by Dr. Chika Ezeanyanaso, emphasized the significance of this training in equipping staff with the necessary knowledge and expertise to drive NASENI’s renewable energy initiatives.

The participants, carefully selected to represent different NASENI institutes, will benefit from a comprehensive transfer of knowledge across the organization.

The training is facilitated by a team of seven experts from SRH Berlin, Germany, and will empower staff with cutting-edge skills and knowledge.

Engr. Anas Yadiz, coordinator of the training, highlighted NASENI’s commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing workforce skills, and leading the charge towards a greener, more energy-efficient Nigeria.

This collaborative effort demonstrates NASENI’s dedication to driving the adoption of biogas and biomethanol technologies, contributing to Nigeria’s broader renewable energy goals, and paving the way for a more sustainable future.

By investing in the development of its staff, NASENI is poised to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector, driving growth and innovation in Nigeria
