Moniepoint CEO Leads Initiative to Boost Financial Literacy Among Female STEM Students

In commemoration of International Women’s Day (IWD), the Tosin Eniolorunda Foundation, in partnership with Moniepoint Group and the Association of Professional Women in Engineering (APWEN), hosted a financial literacy session for female students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

The event, which drew over 250 students, aimed to equip young women with essential tools to thrive in fields where women are often underrepresented, such as finance and STEM.

The session provided tangible resources to support their professional aspirations, networking opportunities, and insights into solving real-world problems.

Tosin Eniolorunda, Group CEO of Moniepoint Inc, emphasized the importance of financial literacy, citing data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) that only 38% of Nigerian adults are financially literate.

He noted that financial inclusion and literacy are crucial for economic development and empowering young women to navigate their education, professional development, and entrepreneurial endeavors.

The event featured prominent speakers, including Prof. Omotayo Aregbesola, who delivered a lecture on excelling as females in STEM, and Yomi Ojute, Learning and Development Specialist at Moniepoint Inc, who discussed winning strategies for developing financial literacy.

The initiative is part of the Tosin Eniolorunda Foundation’s broader commitment to enhancing STEM education in Nigeria, including the recent donation of a CAD/CAM laboratory to support STEM initiatives.
