The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Marine Police Command, Musa Yusuf Garba, hosted executives of the Africa Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) at the Command’s headquarters in Lagos on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
APFFLON President Frank Ogunojemite emphasized the need for continued collaboration between the association and the Marine Police Command, citing the sector’s specialized nature requiring officers with specific knowledge and abilities.
AIG Garba assured APFFLON of the Command’s unwavering support and commitment to professionalism, highlighting the importance of effective prosecution of maritime offenders to safeguard Nigeria’s economic security.
The AIG reiterated the Command’s readiness to work with sister agencies and maritime associations to ensure safety, security, and economic growth in the maritime domain.
The meeting concluded with the presentation of APFFLON’s Maiden Award of Excellence to AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, recognizing his dedication, competence, integrity, and leadership in the professional discharge of his duties.
This development is part of AIG Garba’s efforts to foster collaboration and communication among stakeholders in the meantime sector, following previous engagements with the Nigerian Shippers Council and terminal operators to enhance port security and efficiency.
