The Manufacturers Summit got underway today in Abuja at the prestigious State House Banquet Hall.
The event which is being hosted by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), under the auspices of the Federal Government and key stakeholders, is scheduled to end on July 4th, 2024.
Segun Ajayi-Kadir, Director General of MAN, said the Summit themed, “Rethinking Manufacturing, which was initially scheduled for June, is a crucial event for the manufacturing sector in Nigeria.
He highlighted that the theme underscores the need for innovative strategies and approaches to enhancing the efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability of the manufacturing sector in Nigeria.
According to Ajayi-Kadir, the event offers a platform for critical discussions on overcoming the binding constraints that limit the performance of the manufacturing sector.
He stressed that the outcome of conversations at the summit will help in enhancing supply chain resilience, leveraging technology, and generally fostering a conducive business environment to drive the growth of the sector.
Ajayi-Kadir stated, “Discussion at the summit has been specifically designed to focus on five (5) major pillars: Promote Growth, Upscale Productivity and improve competitiveness; Enhance Energy Security and Infrastructure Development;
“Improving Macroeconomic Environment,Ease of Doing Business; and Periscoping our ESG, Improve Patronage of Made in Nigeria Products and Local Content Development; Leveraging Regional and Continental Trade for Export Development.”
