ICAN Governing Council Members Meet with NDIC Management

The 60th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Davidson Chizuoke Alaribe, led a delegation of ICAN Governing Council members on a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) management in Abuja on January 24, 2025.

During the meeting, the MD/CE of NDIC, Bello Hassan, emphasized the importance of accuracy and integrity in auditing, charging ICAN member auditors to uphold these values.

The MD/CE Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Mr. Bello Hassan and the 60th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chief Davidson Chizuoke S. Alaribe during the ICAN Governing Council members’ visit to the NDIC Management in Abuja.

He also called for the inclusion of deposit insurance courses in ICAN’s training programs to enhance understanding of the deposit insurance system.

The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between ICAN and NDIC, as well as explore opportunities for collaboration.

The ICAN delegation included ICAN Registrar/Chief Executive, Lanre Olasunkanmi, and ICAN Governing Council Member, AVM Abubakar Idris Adamu.

The meeting highlighted the importance of cooperation between professional bodies and regulatory agencies in promoting financial stability and sound accounting practices in Nigeria.
