IBD Impex Chairman, Ibrahim Egungbohun, has pledged his support for the Nigerian Association of Social and Resourceful Editors (NASRE) and its efforts to care for journalists’ widows, orphans, and veterans facing financial challenges.
Egungbohun, also known as IBD Dende, commended NASRE’s sincerity and commitment to its cause while hosting the association’s executive members at his Ilaro office.
He emphasized the importance of supporting journalists, who play a crucial role in ensuring a functional democracy.
In his words, “Journalists, as the fourth estate, must continue to function effectively for us to have a developmental and beneficial democracy, as such, their individual wellbeing and welfare should be our collective priority.”
The IBD Impex Chairman encouraged Nigerians to emulate NASRE’s kindness and generosity, stating that true happiness comes from making others happy.
“I am imploring fellow Nigerians, in any positive way possible, to rise to the occasion, because we have got to uplift each other as our brother’s keepers.”
As a Muslim, Egungbohun believes that people were created to support one another, regardless of their background or status.
“Where lies the true happiness when people around you are not happy? I still hold the fact that doing uplift is not always having much to do with giving of money, rather it is making ourselves available to other people in their trying times.” The IBD Impex Chairman said.
