Governor Eno Decries Spate of Kidnappings in Akwa Ibom State, Vows to Unmask Perpetrators

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has expressed his concern over the recent increase in kidnappings in the state, pointing fingers at certain communities for harboring criminals.

The governor, during a media briefing to mark his one year anniversary, mentioned that security agencies have identified these hotspots and are close to making significant arrests.

Without naming the specific communities involved, Governor Eno emphasized that kidnapping is seen as a profitable business by some individuals.

He urged parents to monitor their children’s movements closely, as the fight against insecurity will be taken to the creeks.

The governor assured that his administration has successfully apprehended suspects in every kidnapping case and will spare no effort in combating this crime.

In addition to addressing security concerns, Governor Eno discussed the high cost of food commodities in the state.

He clarified that the government’s role is to create a conducive environment for productivity rather than dictate prices.

To promote agriculture, the governor declared the first and third Fridays of each month as farm days for civil servants.

Furthermore, Governor Eno clarified that his Bulk Purchase Policy aims to assist the vulnerable population and prevent price manipulation.

He also mentioned terminating contracts for roads where contractors failed to meet expectations, with plans to re-award them.

Overall, Governor Eno’s commitment to unmasking perpetrators of kidnappings and addressing economic challenges demonstrates his dedication to improving the safety and well-being of Akwa Ibom State residents.
