The event, held recently at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja, brought together stakeholders and industry captains to discuss Nigeria’s position as the world’s largest cassava producer.
The theme of the event was “Farm to Global Markets: Driving Industrialization, Food Security and Exports”. The program outcome was anchored on cassava industrialization, youth innovation, import substitution, and export competitiveness.
FMN Agro’s Premium Cassava Products Division (PCPD) played a significant role in the event, contributing to pivotal conversations on scaling investment in cassava processing and creating export value within the cassava value chain.
FMN Agro has emphasized its long-standing commitment to deepening local content, industrial integration, and regional food system resilience through cassava innovation and industrial-scale processing.
The company has invested heavily in the cassava value chain through PCPD, with significant capacity in starch production and backward integration programs that support smallholder farmers.
The General Manager of PCPD, Akhanemeh Joseph Osikhena, noted that partnerships like this are essential to unlocking the true value of Nigeria’s agricultural assets.
The MD of FMN Agro, Sadiq Usman, commended the Federal Government for organizing the event and reiterated the company’s commitment to driving valuable partnerships that foster its purpose of feeding and enriching lives.
