FirstBank, a leading financial institution in West Africa, has commenced construction on its new state-of-the-art, green-certified headquarters in Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
The groundbreaking ceremony marks a significant milestone in the bank’s history, reinforcing its commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability.
The 40-story building, set to be the tallest in Nigeria, will feature cutting-edge technology and eco-friendly design, reducing operational costs and positioning FirstBank as a leader in sustainable banking practices.
According to Olusegun Alebiosu, CEO of FirstBank Group, “Our new Head Office is envisioned as a world-class structure that represents our dedication to innovation, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.
“We believe that this development will play a crucial role in fostering economic growth and development across Africa.”
The project has garnered significant support from various sectors, with dignitaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, senators, lawmakers, state governors, federal ministers, and industry leaders, attending the groundbreaking ceremony.
Femi Otedola, Chairman of FirstHoldCo, expressed appreciation for the support, stating, “Today’s gathering highlights the importance of collaboration and support from various sectors in bringing our ambitious plans for the new headquarters to life.”
