Fidelity Bank Plc has taken a significant step in addressing hunger and poverty in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by distributing food packs to seven communities in the Mabushi district.
This initiative, dubbed the Fidelity Food Bank, is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, focusing on health and social welfare.
The food distribution event, which aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 2, aimed to provide relief to vulnerable households and less privileged families.
Executive Director, North, Fidelity Bank Plc, Sufiyanu Garba, emphasized the bank’s commitment to community development, stating, “This initiative stems from our deep-seated responsibility to support underserved communities and contribute to the fight against hunger in Nigeria.”
The District Head of Mabushi Community, Hassan Danagna, commended Fidelity Bank for its generosity, describing the support as “unprecedented” and “timely, particularly as we approach the holy month of Ramadan.”
Beneficiaries, including Mukhtar Mohamed, expressed gratitude for the significant impact of the food distribution. Fidelity Bank Plc has a strong track record of community engagement and CSR initiatives.
With over 9.1 million customers serviced across its 251 business offices and digital banking channels in Nigeria and the UK, the bank has received multiple local and international awards for its excellence in digital transformation, mobile banking, and investment banking.
The Fidelity Food Bank initiative is a nationwide project, with the bank distributing food packs to communities across Nigeria, including Keffi, Nasarawa State, in partnership with the Abbasid Charity Foundation.
This effort demonstrates Fidelity Bank’s commitment to creating a more sustainable and equitable society.
