FiBOP Honours Sylvester Egede for Exceptional Contributions to Trade 

The Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP) has recognized and rewarded Sylvester Egede, former Port Manager of Tin Can Island Port (TCIP), for his exceptional contributions to trade facilitation.

Egede’s tireless efforts, in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, led to the successful rehabilitation of the Apapa access road, ending daily traffic gridlock and hardship for commuters and workers.

Sylvester Egede’s illustrious career spans various roles within the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), including Traffic Manager at Lagos Port Complex and Kirikiri Lighter Terminal.

He holds memberships in professional bodies, including the American Society of Safety Professionals and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (FCILT).

Egede’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography from the University of Jos and a Master of Science degree in Transport Planning from Lagos State University.

During his tenure as Port Manager, Egede achieved several notable milestones. He successfully cleared the Mile 2 Tin Can Island port expressway blockage, decongested the Tin Can Island port access road, and increased export volume.

Egede also implemented corporate social responsibility initiatives, improved security measures, enhanced cargo operations efficiency, maintained and upgraded infrastructure, and digitized port operations.
