emPLE and LASPARK Join Forces for Greener Lagos

emPLE, one of Nigeria’s leading insurance providers, has partnered with the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) to launch Green emPLE, a company-wide sustainability initiative.

The initiative kicked off with a tree-planting exercise at the National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos, where 65 trees were planted across strategic locations in the city.

The carefully selected tree species were chosen for their environmental benefits, including improving air quality, reducing urban heat, and enhancing the city’s ecological balance. This initiative supports Lagos State’s sustainability goals and promotes a greener environment.

Oyinlade Olalekan, Managing Director of emPLE General Insurance Limited, said, “At emPLE, we’re deeply committed to empowering lives—not just through our financial offerings but by actively contributing to a more sustainable world.”

Adetoun Popoola, General Manager of LASPARK, commended the initiative, saying, “Collaborations like this help us get more done and inspire residents and businesses alike to take sustainability seriously.”

LASPARK presented emPLE with a Tree Planting Certificate, recognizing its role in environmental preservation and ongoing support for climate resilience and green urban development.

This partnership marks the beginning of emPLE’s long-term commitment to promoting sustainable practices that support a healthier planet and empower future generations.

Green emPLE reflects emPLE’s belief that true empowerment goes beyond financial products and includes taking responsibility for the environment and driving long-term positive change.

The initiative is part of emPLE’s broader mission to empower Africans through innovative financial solutions and sustainable practices.
