Ecobank and EStars Partner to Develop Esports Skills in Nigerian Youth

EStars, a pioneering esports organization, has partnered with Ecobank Nigeria to revolutionize esports education in Nigeria.

This collaboration aims to equip students with vital life skills, such as critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership, through an innovative esports curriculum.

The partnership will introduce the Esports Club, an online educational platform, to schools across Nigeria.

This platform offers educational games designed to develop essential soft skills, leveraging Ecobank’s extensive network to reach remote areas.

EStars’ CEO, Mags Byrne, emphasized the transformative potential of this collaboration, stating that esports is more than just gaming; it’s a gateway to acquiring essential life skills needed in today’s digital world.

Omoboye Odu, Head of SMEs, Partnerships and Collaborations at Ecobank Nigeria, praised the initiative as a great fit with the bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, supporting Ecobank’s mission to create opportunities for young Africans to excel in the digital age.

The partnership aligns with the Nigerian government’s objectives of advancing digital literacy and preparing youth for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

It also presents opportunities for Nigeria to become a key player in the esports industry, with potential benefits including job creation and economic activity.

Ecobank and EStars are committed to working with educational authorities, school administrators, and the wider community to ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative, marking a new era in Nigerian education where technology, gaming, and life skills converge to shape a brighter future for the nation’s youth.
