I have been meditating on the story of Biblical Noah…. And I find some things Worth Sharing… This would be a LONG Read but Definitely a BENEFICIAL one indeed….
Noah had an Assignment to Build an Ark which will serve to protect those inside from the impending flood… God Instructed Noah to go tell the people of the coming flood..
Being that no one ever saw rain before in those days, the people did not take Noah seriously… They Mocked and called him ridiculous names…
Noah never got discouraged by their reactions, He kept Building… The Ark was not meant for only Noah and his Family…. It was for any who will heed the warning and willingly get inside it.
Noah’s Warning and Building made no sense to the fun loving scoffers until the Rain came trickling down and eventually flooded the earth…
By Inference, we can Rightfully Say that the Building work took Noah more than 50 years to complete….
As we Journey through life, Many of us will face or may already have been subjected to similar Ridicule as Noah was… How? You may ask.
Let us imagine a Banker who decides to leave the supposedly noble Banking profession to venture into another business which he believes would arouse his creative and entrepreneurial talent.
After carrying out feasibility studies he realized that the Foodstuff business would be a Viable one, with Great Potential For Success…
So first, he decides to sell stuffs like; ‘Kpomo’, ‘Egusi’ and similar food items that the white collar folks may consider demeaning…
Months passed by as the banker quickly got noticed and became the subject of gossip and mockery ….”You no dey do banking work again? Na kpomo you come dey sell now”? A curious neighbor queries.
After the first year, sales had been dull and patronage fell short of expectation, so the following year, the young entrepreneur showcased more items including crayfish, but the busybodies go: “Ohhh! no be “Kpomo” again? Crayfish don join? ‘You no go find another thing do? How many things sef you wan sell”?
Some even go as far as judging that the Banker lacks Direction and Focus…” He has lost it”, they exclaim.
Really? Quite the OPPOSITE maybe.
Years passed by and one day, after a deep thought, the young entrepreneur decided to carefully package and brand his stock-in-trade as well as market it via the digital platform using online malls and social media platforms …
What next? The brand becomes a sudden big hit, turnover and the bottom-line skyrocket … and before long, Voila! The former Banker has Built a global entity.
Such is life.
Do you get discouraged and stop Building as it were? Give up on your business? Give up on Your Goals for the Business?
Remember Noah. He was not A Carpenter, only working with the measurements and plan God gave him… Yet, he was Determined to Build and did not give Excuses as to why the project took so long and may not be completed…
He was not deterred because he was confident that the flood will come and he was spurred on knowing that the Ark would be their only means for survival.
That You are New at a Business Venture, doesn’t mean you can’t Succeed as those who spent their lifetime in the same line of Business..
So do not Doubt, let go of Excuses. Be confident.. And let no one Tell you “you can’t make it”….
I said earlier that it took Noah more than 50 years to build the Ark…. In all these years, Noah didn’t get tired nor Abandon the Building Project. No!.
Noah never said, “Will I Ever Complete this Task”?
People mocked Noah too when the impending Flood he warned about had not come for more than 50years…. The Mockery, certainly, would have intensified…
People may expect that your Business will Blossom, so to speak in one year, involving the contrary, they see the business crawling, Year one, Year two, Year Three or even more, and your Business is not yet at the level it should be…. Their Mockery intensifies.. Do you Stop Building?
Noah definitely would have encountered some bottlenecks while working on the boat building project..
If Noah allowed himself to be discouraged by those who doubted and Mocked him, or the bottlenecks he had to face, he wouldn’t have completed that ark…
If Noah had not taken the building work seriously, he and his Family would not have been saved..
So I say to YOU… DON’T STOP BUILDING…
Remember Noah’s Warning and Building the Ark made no sense to people then until the Flood came..
Your Business Venture may make no sense to others as well, until you start Succeeding at it….
Yes, you will surely Encounter Challenges, You will have low patronage or no Patronage at all at some point, other difficulties will surface…. Should that make you Stop Building or Give Up on the Business?
I say to YOU: RISE above the Mockery, RISE above the Derogatory Remarks, RISE above the Bottlenecks.
That New Business Venture which you have carefully studied, having Great Potential for Success, Take it Seriously and Keep Building…..
It doesn’t really matter the number of Years it takes you to build, With Perseverance, Determination, Diligence, Doggedness, You shall SURELY See Your Ark Complete..
I Say Again!!! DON’T STOP BUILDING!!!!!
