The Dangote Group has issued a statement refuting claims made by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye, regarding the selling price of petrol at the Dangote Refinery.
The NNPCL spokesperson had alleged that the refinery sells petrol at N898 per liter to the NNPCL.
However, the Dangote Group has described this claim as misleading and mischievous, aimed at undermining the significant achievement of the refinery in addressing energy insufficiency and insecurity in the country.
The Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, clarified that the refinery’s products are sold to the NNPCL in dollars, resulting in significant savings compared to current import costs.
He emphasized that the current stock of crude was procured in dollars, and the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by President Bola Tinubu, will announce the pricing on October 1, 2024.
The Dangote Group assured Nigerians of the availability of quality petroleum products and its efforts to end the endemic fuel scarcity in the country.
The statement also highlighted the refinery’s commitment to ensuring petrol availability in every local government area, regardless of their remote nature.
The Group awaits the official pricing announcement by the Technical Sub-Committee and assures Nigerians of its commitment to addressing fuel scarcity and ensuring quality petroleum products.
