Dangote Cement Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to training and retraining its truck drivers to promote operational efficiency and safe driving across Nigeria.
The company’s Group Managing Director, Arvind Pathak, emphasized that safety on the road remains the company’s core mandate during the 2025 Annual Drivers’ Retreat.
Pathak stated that the training is designed to remind drivers of the company’s core values and commitment to the Absolute Safer Road Policy.
The policy aims to ensure that all drivers undergo rigorous training and adhere to strict safety and behavioral standards.
The company has a comprehensive recruitment process for its drivers, which includes valid driver’s license, background verification, medical evaluation, and substance abuse testing. Only drivers who meet all required standards are engaged and certified to operate Dangote Group vehicles.
All drivers undergo mandatory pre-trip medical assessments, conducted by licensed nurses and doctors, to ensure they are physically and mentally fit to operate safely.
Random drug tests are also conducted routinely across operations to enforce compliance with the company’s zero-tolerance policy on substance use.
Dangote Cement collaborates with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other regulatory agencies to ensure that all training, compliance, and operational processes are standardized and continuously improved.
Dangote Cement’s commitment to training and retraining its truck drivers demonstrates its dedication to road safety and operational efficiency.
