Change of Baton: Comptroller Umar Resumes As Controller Western Marine Command

Comptroller AA Umar has officially assumed duties as the substantive Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Western Marine Command (WMC) following the redeployment of the outgoing Acting Contoller of the Command, DC E Ochiba.

 

 

In a brief ceremony at the WMC Headquarters Ibafon-Apapa, Lagos, the outgoing DC Ochiba welcomed the substantive Area Controller Umar and congratulated him on his newposting.

He appreciated the Officers and Men of the Command for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged them to accord maximum support and cooperation to the new Area Controller.

In his remark, Comptroller Umar urged the Officers/Men to rededicate themselves to their statutory responsibilities. He charged them to be disciplined and work according to the codes, procedures, departmental instructions and laws as enshrine in the Customs and Excise Management Act Cap C45 2004 as amended.

Comptroller Umar was among the Comptrollers who were recently redeployed on February 8, 2022 by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd).

Until his appointment, Comptroller Umar was in charge of Discipline at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja.
