The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has endorsed the upcoming Trade EXPO at the African Organisation for Standardization (ARSO) as a unique opportunity for local manufacturers and producers to showcase their products.

ARSO – The African Organisation for Standardisation (ARSO) is a continental standards body established in 1977 by the African Union (formerly OAU) and United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) with the aim of promoting and harmonizing standards development and implementation across Africa

The 2024 Trade EXPO, in celebration of ARSO’s 30th General Assembly, will take place in July in Abuja.

In a statement released in Lagos on Thursday, SON’s Director of the Public Relations Department, Bolaji Foluso, emphasized that the EXPO will boost confidence in Nigerian products by showcasing the Nigerian market to Africa and the world.

The event will feature a wide range of local manufacturers and producers, offering a firsthand experience of the vibrant Nigerian market.

Foluso highlighted the benefits of participating in the exhibition, including networking opportunities with industry experts, policymakers, and potential investors.

She also noted that adherence to ARSO’s standards and regulations can enhance the credibility and marketability of products, leading to sustainable business expansion.

Visitors attending the ARSO General Assembly will have the chance to explore Nigeria’s economic landscape, from traditional crafts to cutting-edge technologies.

The exhibition aims to showcase Nigeria’s innovation, enterprise, and commitment to excellence, providing valuable insights into emerging trends and investment opportunities.

By highlighting the importance of standardization in driving economic development and fostering regional integration, the exhibition and General Assembly are expected to catalyze transformative change for Nigeria and Africa.

The synergy between the two events will propel the region towards a future of sustainable growth and prosperity.
