A Nigerian author and media entrepreneur, Ogugua Ajayi, is gaining recognition for promoting African romance narratives on the global stage through her writing and creative ventures.
Ajayi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Love Legacy Media, has continued to build a reputation as an author, scriptwriter and creative business leader. Her latest novel, Love on a Dotted Line, recently acquired by Narrative Landscape Press, marks a significant milestone in her career and reflects growing global interest in African-centred storytelling.
Speaking on her journey, Ajayi said her passion for storytelling began in childhood, inspired by books that exposed her to diverse experiences beyond her immediate environment. She noted that writing later became a means of emotional expression and connection.
Ajayi explained that her work spans literature, film and business, which she views as a unified ecosystem aimed at creating and distributing compelling stories to wider audiences.
Her platform, Love Legacy Media, was established to amplify African romance stories, a genre she believes has been underrepresented despite its cultural richness and universal appeal.
According to her, the focus on African romance is deliberate, with an emphasis on authenticity and culturally grounded narratives. Her works explore themes such as forgiveness, second chances and personal transformation.
Operating in a competitive global creative industry, Ajayi acknowledged challenges associated with expectations around narrative voice but said she remains committed to authenticity, positioning herself among a new generation of African women reshaping the storytelling landscape.
Looking ahead, she said her goal is to grow Love Legacy Media into a leading global platform for African storytelling, particularly within the romance genre, by producing stories that resonate across cultures while remaining true to African realities.
Ajayi also encouraged aspiring writers, especially young African women, to pursue storytelling with confidence and consistency.
Industry observers note that as demand for diverse narratives continues to rise globally, creatives like Ajayi are playing a key role in expanding the visibility and acceptance of African romance literature.
