Fidelity Bank Plc has unveiled a series of training programmes and support initiatives aimed at empowering women with practical, income-generating skills and enhancing their professional growth, as part of activities marking International Women’s Day 2026.
The initiative, branded “Give Her Power,” is being implemented throughout March under the bank’s women-focused platform, HerFidelity, and aligns with the “Give to Gain” theme for this year’s engagements.
As part of the programme, HerFidelity hosted a masterclass on March 18, focusing on communication and presentation skills.
The session provided participants with practical insights into audience engagement, event moderation, confidence-building, and personal branding, particularly targeting women seeking to strengthen their public speaking and professional presence.
Another event, a Gele Masterclass scheduled for March 30, will offer hands-on training in traditional headgear styling. The bank says the session is designed not only to celebrate cultural heritage but also to equip participants with a skill that can be monetised.
In addition to the training sessions, participants will benefit from professional headshot services aimed at improving their personal and professional profiles.
Speaking on the initiative, Ugochi Osinigwe, Divisional Head of Small and Medium-scale Enterprises Banking at Fidelity Bank, said the programme reflects the bank’s commitment to economic empowerment for women.
She noted that equipping women with practical skills has a multiplier effect on families, businesses, and communities, adding that the bank’s goal is to ensure participants leave with tools they can immediately apply.
Earlier in the month, the bank reinforced this commitment by signing strategic partnerships at the launch of the “Give Her Power” initiative on March 5.
The collaborations, anchored on the HerFidelity Apprenticeship Programme, are expected to expand access to vocational training, business support, and sustainable enterprise opportunities for women across various sectors.
As part of the broader initiative, Fidelity Bank is also distributing 1,000 sewing and grinding machines to support women-led microbusinesses nationwide.
Fidelity Bank Plc, a leading commercial bank in Nigeria, serves over 10 million customers through its digital platforms, 255 business offices across Nigeria, and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
The bank has received multiple recognitions, including awards for digital transformation, mobile banking innovation, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises.
