The African Public Relations Association (APRA) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the people of Kenya following the recent unrest in the country that resulted in loss of life and property.
In a statement signed by Secretary-General Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan, APRA expressed its solidarity with the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and urged the Kenyan government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens.
The statement read, in part: “We stand in solidarity with our counterparts in PRSK and offer our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the protests.
“We wish a speedy recovery to those injured and pray for the repose of the souls of the deceased.”
APRA also called on the Kenyan government to engage in stakeholder consultations with empathy and an openness to reconciliation, demonstrating its commitment to prioritizing the needs of its citizens.
The association’s message emphasized the importance of conversational capacity and empathy in times of crisis.
