Apapa Customs Rakes in ₦161.26 Billion in Three Weeks, Promises Improved Service

The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded a significant revenue collection of ₦161.26 billion within a span of three weeks using the B’Odogwu system.

The Command’s Area Customs Controller, Comptroller Dr. Babatunde Olomu, has assured stakeholders that the system will soon pick up and surpass expectations.

While commending stakeholders for their patience and understanding with the NCS particular those in Apapa Command, the Area Controller disclosed that between August 1 and August 22, 2025, the Command collected ₦161.26 billion using the B’Odogwu system.

Comptroller Olomu attributed the progress to intense stakeholder engagement initiated by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

He commended stakeholders for their patience and understanding, expressing confidence that the NCS will overcome the current challenges.

The NCS has engaged with the Nigerian Shippers Council to mitigate the effects of recent downtime experienced in transactions.

The Zonal Coordinator, Charles Orbih, was present at the Apapa Command to address concerns of importers, licensed customs agents, and freight forwarding companies.

Comptroller Olomu emphasized the NCS’s commitment to improving the B’Odogwu system, assuring that the dedicated ICT department is working tirelessly to achieve a permanent solution.

He expressed gratitude for stakeholders’ support and confidence in the NCS’s ability to deliver excellent service.

The Apapa Command’s impressive revenue collection is a testament to the NCS’s efforts to improve service delivery.

With the Command’s commitment to excellence and stakeholder engagement, the B’Odogwu system is expected to enhance trade facilitation and revenue collection in the near future.
